About the Opportunity
A Tier 1 Contractor is seeking an experienced
M&E Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team based in
Dublin, initially supporting the successful delivery of a flagship
Hyperscale Data Centre project.
Working closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers, Engineers, Procurement Teams, Construction Managers, and Client Representatives, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of Mechanical and Electrical packages, ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, and in accordance with contractual obligations.

The Role - M&E Quantity Surveyor
As an
M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the commercial and contractual aspects of Mechanical and Electrical works, ensuring robust cost control, effective contract administration, accurate financial reporting, and successful commercial outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities of the M&E Quantity Surveyor
- Manage the commercial delivery of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) packages, including cost planning, budgeting, procurement, subcontractor management, valuations, payment applications, variations, claims, change management, cash flow forecasting, Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), cost reporting, and final account negotiations, ensuring commercial success across all project phases.
- Administer contracts in accordance with NEC, FIDIC, D&B, Lump Sum, Cost Plus etc. managing contractual compliance, procurement strategies, commercial reporting, risk management, and change control while supporting project profitability and protecting the contractor's commercial position.
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers, Construction Teams, BIM, Procurement, and Client Representatives to provide commercial advice, evaluate project risks and opportunities, support value engineering initiatives, resolve contractual matters, and ensure accurate forecasting and financial reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the successful commercial delivery of large-scale mission-critical construction projects.
Necessary Requirements of the M&E Quantity Surveyor
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Economics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or strong trades background, with 3+ years' experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor, Mechanical Quantity Surveyor, Electrical Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, or Commercial Engineer within Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Commercial, Building Services, or Mission-Critical Construction environments.
- Proven experience managing Mechanical and Electrical Building Services packages, including procurement, subcontractor management, cost reporting, CVRs, valuations, variations, claims, final accounts, commercial negotiations, and contract administration on medium to large-scale construction projects.
- Strong understanding of Commercial Management, Cost Control, Building Services, MEP Construction, Project Controls, Procurement, Risk Management, Change Management, Contract Administration, and Financial Reporting, with experience working under NEC, FIDIC, JCT, or Public Works Contracts.
- Excellent commercial awareness, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems and the ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams in a fast-paced construction environment.
