The Role
The Corporate Partnerships & Communications Manager will play a key role in delivering and growing sustainable income for DSC. Reporting to senior leadership and working closely with a small, dynamic Fundraising Team, this role combines strategic planning with hands-on relationship management and income generation.
The successful candidate will be a confident relationship-builder and skilled fundraiser with experience securing funding from corporates, individual donors, and trusts/foundations.
Indicative income focus:
- 50% Corporate Partnerships – including management of the Inclusion Matters initiative
- 35% Communications
- 15% Trusts, Foundations & Grants
This is an approximate percentage but can vary throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Partnerships
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners to support the mission of the Down Syndrome Centre
· Identify and pursue new corporate partnership opportunities, including sponsorships, donations, and long-term collaborations
· Act as the main point of contact for corporate partners, ensuring clear communication and excellent relationship management
· Coordinate and deliver corporate engagement initiatives, including fundraising events, awareness campaigns, and employee volunteering opportunities
· Prepare and deliver presentations to corporate stakeholders to promote the organisation’s work and impact
· Collaborate with internal teams to align corporate partnerships with organisational goals and service delivery
· Track, evaluate, and report on partnership outcomes and impact
· Ensure all partnerships reflect the values and ethos of the Down Syndrome Centre
Inclusion Matters Initiative (Deposit Return Scheme)
· Lead the development and delivery of DSC’s Inclusion Matters Initiative supporting inclusive work opportunities through the national deposit return scheme.
· Build and manage partnerships with corporates, retailers and community stakeholders to grow reach, impact and income.
· Oversee programme delivery, ensuring high quality participant experiences and alignment with DSC services.
· Monitor and report on financial performance and social impact.
· Promote the initiative through communications, PR and stakeholder engagement.
Communications Strategy & Delivery
- Develop and implement an annual communications strategy aligned with the charity’s goals, including a clear time plan and measurable outcomes.
- Create innovative, high-quality print and digital content that reflects all aspects of DSC’s work.
- Plan and deliver multimedia campaigns to promote events, services, and organisational priorities.
- Ensure consistent messaging that reflects the ethos and values of the Centre.
- Monitor performance, track KPIs, and support income forecasting
Digital & Content Management
- Manage and grow DSC’s digital channels (with a focus on LinkedIn)
- Create and update engaging content (written, graphic, and video), ensuring accuracy of service information.
- Monitor performance analytics and produce monthly reports to evaluate campaign effectiveness and inform future strategy.
- Identify opportunities to grow DSC’s online presence and engagement.
Media & Public Relations
- Draft and distribute press releases and coordinate media opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with print, radio, and TV media.
- Act as a key point of contact between DSC and the media.
- Represent DSC publicly when required, in line with organisational messaging.
Fundraising & Grant Support
- Support the delivery of DSC’s fundraising strategy through effective communications campaigns.
- Assist in developing compelling fundraising materials and donor communications.
- Contribute to grant writing, including drafting and editing funding applications and impact reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify funding opportunities and communicate programme outcomes effectively.
Publications & Internal Collaboration
- Contribute to the development of key organisational publications, including annual reports and strategic plans.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to produce promotional materials.
- Support internal communications to increase engagement in fundraising and organisational initiatives.
Events & Representation
- Represent and support DSC at events, campaigns, and presentations.
- Coordinate media and editorial opportunities linked to key events.
General
- Promote and uphold the mission, vision, and values of the Down Syndrome Centre in all activities.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to support broader organisational needs when required.
- Strong Microsoft skills; Excel, Word, Powerpoint
Candidate Profile
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience in communications, PR, or marketing (non-profit experience desirable).
- Experience in fundraising and/or grant writing is highly desirable.
- Strong digital skills, including social media, content creation, and analytics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Creative, proactive, and highly organised.

Terms
- Permanent full-time position (part-time considered)
- Six-month probation period
- Salary: €50,000+ depending on experience
- Location: Down Syndrome Centre, Sandyford Business Park, Dublin 18
- Flexibility required for occasional out-of-hours work
- Full Driving Licence
