We at Blackrock Community Playgroup Ltd fully appreciate the importance of providing a comfortable, safe environment for children to learn and grow at their own pace. As such it is our aim to provide a pre-school and early years service to children from all backgrounds, where they can develop all the essential early life skills in a stimulating and creative environment. We are proud to say we have been providing an excellent service for over 30 years.
Blackrock Community Playgroup Ltd aims to provide an affordable childcare service to families in the community. It is a not-for-profit organisation and so fees directly fund costs involved in running the service. We actively promote our policy of involving parents on a daily basis. Being the only community run childcare facility in the Blackrock area also adds to our uniqueness.
We have two fully equipped rooms, each holding a maximum of 16 children. There are two key workers in each room, providing an excellent adult to child ratio. All of our staff current and future are fully garda vetted, as is the law. We are Health Board compliant, and inspected regularly.
We run our playgroup based on the principles of "High Scope", which teaches children to learn through making informed choices. When you leave your child with us you can be confident that they are learning and being cared for in a comfortable, safe setting by professional, qualified staff who have your child's welfare at heart.
Job description
We are looking to recruit a minimum of 1 Early Years Educator to join our family-like team.
Starting date: As Soon As Possible.
Requirements
- MUST HAVE Minimum Level 5 QQI qualification in Early Childhood Education
- Good written and spoken english
- Be able to work on your own initiative as well as being a good team player
- Be Garda Vetted in accordance with our policies
Desirable but not Required
- Understanding of High Scope
- An interest and love of the Community based ethos
Salary is dependant on qualifications, experience and suitability of chosen candidate(s)

8:30am-1pm
Same holidays as Primary schools
