Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, high-quality, and person-centred nursing care in accordance with professional standards and organisational policies.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and review individual care plans tailored to the needs of each resident.
- Administer medications and treatments safely, in line with NMBI guidelines, protocols, and local policies.
- Monitor, record, and report patients’/residents’ conditions, escalating concerns or changes to the appropriate senior staff.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation and nursing records.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and effective care delivery.
- Support patients/residents with activities of daily living, promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control standards, including hand hygiene, PPE use, and isolation procedures where required.
- Respond appropriately to clinical emergencies and follow established escalation procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients/residents, families, and healthcare professionals, providing clear and compassionate updates.
- Ensure compliance with HIQA standards (where applicable) and all relevant regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Participate in ward/unit routines, handovers, and care planning meetings.
- Contribute to the supervision, guidance, and support of healthcare assistants and junior staff where appropriate.
Essential Requirements:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) on the active register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of 1-2 years post-registration experience in an acute, clinical, or healthcare setting is desirable.
- Strong clinical competence with up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Commitment to maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation and record-keeping.
- Knowledge of HIQA standards (where applicable in residential care settings) and adherence to relevant regulatory requirements.
- Commitment to maintaining patient/resident dignity, privacy, independence, and confidentiality at all times.
- Eligible to work in Ireland.
