Purpose of the Role
The Forklift Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of secondary packaging (crates and boxes). This role ensures smooth goodsinwards operations, liaison with national transport and timely unloading of vehicles, and correct placement of pallets into designated storage locations.
Main Responsibilities
- Goods Inwards Handling - Receive incoming secondary packaging (crates and boxes), check delivery documentation, and ensure all items are accounted for and in good condition.

Truck Tipping - Safely tip the truck upon arrival, following site procedures and coordinating with drivers to ensure efficient turnaround.

Pallet Movement - Transport pallets from unloading areas to agreed storage locations using a forklift, ensuring accuracy and adherence to warehouse layout plans.

Stock Placement - Place pallets into the correct racking or floor locations, updating inventory systems where required.

Forklift Operation - Operate forklifts and other materialhandling equipment safely and in compliance with site and regulatory standards.

Housekeeping Duties - Maintain a clean, organised, and hazardfree work environment in all goodsinwards and storage areas.

Safety Compliance - Follow all health and safety procedures, report hazards, and participate in safety briefings and training.

Stock holding management - support the packaging team with stock control.
Skills & Experience
Trained and experienced FLT - Reach Counterbalance driver with proven clean Health & Safety Record
Flexibility to work shift patterns as required
Good standard of basic English is essential
Ability to take on knowledge quickly
Open to feedback to develop
Drive and enthusiasm essential
Ability to work as part of a team
Always conduct work in a healthy and safe manner
Good level of numeracy essential for planning
Must have good attendance record
Good punctuality record
Good disciplinary record
Excellent adherence to Health and Safety
This role is based in St Margaret's so must have own transport to get onsite
