Co-Operative Animal Health Ltd (CAHL) was founded in 1972 in Tullow, Co Carlow, Ireland. CAHL supplies Co-op’s, merchants and farmers with a comprehensive range of veterinary, dairy hygiene and animal nutrition products.
CAHL’s nutritional supplements range is produced at Nutribio, its manufacturing facility in Tivoli, Cork, Ireland. Nutribio’s production facility is supported by a highly qualified technical team in addition to our in-house laboratory which ensures all products are tested to the highest quality standards and offer our customers full traceability.
In 2021 we opened a state of the art GMP+ Manufacturing Facility in Little Island to support our growing export customer base where we manufacture high value complementary feed supplements and animal feed tailored to Clients specific needs.
For over 50 years, CAHL have been the number one provider of livestock health and nutrition solutions in Ireland. We are committed to delivering solutions that improve the health and wellness of ruminants resulting in performance improvements in dairy, beef and sheep farm enterprises.
We focus on identifying key issues/problems that affect both current and potential customers and on designing solutions/programs to overcome these.
CAHL provide the complete animal husbandry solution to its customers which incorporates veterinary medicines, hygiene solutions and nutritional supplements to ensure that the animals health is always maximised while also giving the farmer a good return on investment.
Animal Health Distributors specializes in exclusive and special import services and licenses for veterinary medicine in Ireland and abroad.
Our strategy involves improving feed conversion, composition, fertility, integrity and cost.
All of our manufactured products are formulated based on the latest scientific research and in line with current EU legislation. A strict UFAS approved quality system is in place ensuring that all of our mineral supplements are in line with the premium standards that we adhere to.
Role Overview
This exciting opportunity is to support our Nutribio business based in Cork primarily in Little Island but you may also at times support our Tivoli Site too. Our Performance Nutrition Plant (PNP) was purpose built over4 years ago and is classed as a GMP+ Facility. So if you are looking for a new challenge and come from a regulated environment where GMP is at the core along with meeting customer needs in a compliant, safe and with quality at the forefront this may be the role for you. We are looking for an experienced People Manager with a Continuous Improvement mindset, coming from a Team Lead or Supervisor role. A Technical/Engineering background or skillset would also be useful. The Team is relatively small so the role can be hands on as well as developing and leading the Team.

Role and Responsibilities
· Supervise and lead the daily and weekly production plan (daily commissioning throughput) on all production lines in PNP
· Motivate, develop and manage the Team in line with the Company Performance Management Program
· Take the lead on any People Management issues with relevant support from the Business
· Manage and develop Hygiene and housekeeping standards in line with Quality Standards
· Ensure that the required Health and Safety requirements and safe work practices are in place
· Devise and co-ordinate Training plans for Operators and deliver training on occasion
· Deliver on the Goals for the Production area
· Support the recruitment needs of the Team where they arise
· Drive Lean process improvement using lean tools and concepts
· Ensure Inventory Management procedures and controls are adhered to at all times.
· Co-ordinate and develop Maintenance work in line with planning and production plants demand.
· Manage KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People and Environment.
· Write, develop, coordinate and communicate SOPs and Risk assessments related to production
· Manage and develop all reports related to Production activities such as weekly KPI reports. (Production output report and Plant efficiency)
· Communicate clear objectives to achieve the best out of the Team
· Lead /Manage a quality focus approach for our customer requirements with the aim of a 100% RFT
· Ensure and manage Hygiene standards to GMP+ standards
· Carry out other duties as business needs require
Desired Qualifications and Education Requirements
Degree / Diploma in Engineering or Science or similar qualification
Qualification in the area of Lean/CI with proven experience
Computer skills essential, Microsoft office.
Key Skills and core competencies
5 or more years’ experience in operations / manufacturing preferably in a regulated environment.
A Leader with a track record of delivering through a Team
Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
Change Management experience desirable
Strong communicator who can interface at all levels of the organization
A proactive self-starter with ability to motivate and coach people
Excellent problem solving skills
A Technical/Engineering background or skillset would be an advantage
Proven track record in Inventory management and SOP development.
Lean principles and quality systems experience.
Experience in a GMP Production facility
Person with ability to work in an organized fashion.
Good report writing and numerical skills
