Job Description:
Encon, a leading Building, Retrofit & Renewables Contractor in Ireland, continues to expand its delivery of high-quality retrofit and energy efficiency projects across the South and South East Regions. As part of this growth, Encon is seeking a Roofer to support Solar PV Installations, domestic retrofit and energy upgrade programmes across multiple schemes and standards.
This role plays a key role in delivering energy-efficiency improvements to residential properties while supporting national sustainability and climate action objectives.
Role Overview
Lead Roofer is a site-based role responsible for the safe and effective installation of Solar PV Panels and Roof Ventilation in domestic and commercial properties. The role includes overseeing a small installation team while ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with SEAI technical standards and all relevant health and safety regulations.
This position involves on-site installation, proper assessment of installations, quality control, team coordination, and customer interactions, while working closely with internal teams to ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out pre-installation and post-installation checks and assessments
- Ensure all works are completed in line with SEAI requirements
- Operate equipment and tools safely
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment on all job sites
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members
- Complete job documentation, including photos and reports where required
Requirements
- Full clean driving licence (essential)
- Valid Safe Pass (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
- Manual Handling certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
- Previous experience in Solar PV Panels and/of Roof Ventilation
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Physically fit and comfortable working on-site
- Good level of written and spoken English
