The Role
The successful candidate will play an important role within our manufacturing department, assisting in the production, assembly and fitting of high-quality timber products. The role involves operating woodworking machinery, interpreting production drawings and maintaining excellent standards of quality and workmanship.
This is a full-time position based on a 39-hour working week. Normal working hours are Saturday to Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday as scheduled days off. Flexibility may be required from time to time to meet production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble timber products to a high standard.
- Operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and production specifications.
- Assemble and fit finished products off site.
- Carry out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Assist with loading, packing and preparing products for dispatch.
- Work efficiently to achieve production targets and deadlines.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a manufacturing team.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working within a wood manufacturing, cabinetry or carpentry environment.
- Experience using woodworking machinery and hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Availability to work the normal Saturday to Wednesday shift pattern.
Desirable
- A qualification in Carpentry, Cabinet Making, Wood Manufacturing or a related trade is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with CNC machinery or CNC manufacturing processes would be an advantage.
- Experience in furniture or commercial cabinetry manufacturing.
- A full, clean driver's licence is desirable but not essential.
- Manual handling or forklift certification would be an advantage.
