Hours: 39 hours per week
As part of this role you will be working on a shift basis, including evening, overnight (sleepover/waking nights) and weekends

Purpose
As a Staff Nurse, you will support individuals to maintain and improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide person-centred nursing support, ensuring each individual's needs are met in a respectful and responsive way.
You will also work closely with families, colleagues and external services to ensure consistent, coordinated support.
Role:
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver safe, effective and person-centred nursing care in line with professional standards and organisational policies.
Work as part of a team to support individuals to live full and meaningful lives as members of their community.
Assess, plan, implement and review individual care plans, taking account of each person's needs and preferences.
Support and oversee the safe administration and management of medication.
Monitor and respond to changes in health and wellbeing, seeking guidance where required.
Liaise with families, GPs, primary care teams, hospitals and other services to ensure consistent care and support.
Support individuals to attend appointments and access relevant services.
Promote participation, consultation and involvement of individuals in their care and daily lives.
Contribute to risk management, ensuring a balance between safety and supporting choice.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
Support and guide colleagues where required, sharing knowledge and experience.
Participate in training, education and development, and support learning within the team.
Ensure all work is carried out in line with HIQA standards, safeguarding requirements and organisational policies.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
RNID is desirable but not essential.
Experience:
Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or complex needs is desirable.
Experience in clinical assessment, care planning and multidisciplinary working.
Experience supporting staff teams or providing clinical guidance is an advantage.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of intellectual disability and person-centred practice.
Knowledge of HIQA standards, Health Act 2007 and other regulatory requirements.
Clinical knowledge relevant to supporting individuals with complex health needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with individuals, families and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organisational, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Good IT and documentation skills.
