The Role
We are seeking a motivated EHS Engineer to take ownership of Environmental, Health and Safety activities across our Galway site. This standalone role reports to the Production Manager and will support compliance, promote a positive safety culture and drive environmental improvement initiatives across both divisions.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Promote a strong Environmental, Health and Safety culture across the entire site.
- Own and maintain the site’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections and safety audits.
- Support incident, accident and near-miss investigations and follow-up actions.
- Maintain EHS policies, records, reports and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate EHS training, inductions and employee awareness initiatives.
- Support internal/external audits and the Environmental Management System.
Work with Production, Quality and Engineering to implement EHS improvements
Key Skills and Competencies:
Essential
- Qualification in Environmental Health & Safety or Environmental Science.
- 2-3 years' experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety role.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety principles, risk assessment and compliance.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and build relationships across the business.
Desirable
- Manufacturing, medical device or SME experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting audits, environmental compliance or sustainability initiatives.
