We are recruiting for a Trainee Health & Safety Officer to join our team in ABP Clones.
The successful candidate will be based in ABP Clones, Teehill, Clones, Co Monaghan, on a full-time contract.
Job description
The Trainee Health & Safety Officer will be involved in supporting the H&S department in maintaining high standards of safety and regulatory compliance. This entrylevel role is designed for someone eager to learn, and is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate. There are opportunities for support in order to develop your skills and competencies. Training will be provided
Key Responsibilities

Work alongside the site H & S Manager to help prepare site health and safety strategies.

Help carry out risk assessments, identify how risk could be reduced & produce reports to suggest improvements.

Carry out site inspections to check policies and procedures are being executed correctly on site.

Keep records of any inspection's findings or accidents on site and produce statistics for managers.

Educate Line Managers, Supervisors & Maintenance personnel on all Health and Safety matters.

Partake in & organise training with site management/staff about health and safety issues and risks

Liaise with all Contractors on correct risk assessments & site-specific method statements.

Attend all safety/lean meetings/briefings
Requirements
At least 1 years' experience working in a meat processing factory is required
Understanding of safety practices within meat production industry
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn, with a positive "can-do" attitude
Computer literate - including use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel is required
Have the ability to deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner with unquestionable integrity.
The Health & Safety Trainee will report directly to the Health & Safety Manager
