School Age Childcare Practitioner (Afterschool)

About the Role
SALI Childcare is seeking an energetic, dedicated, and caring School Age Childcare Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will create a safe, stimulating, and positive environment for primary school-aged children during after-school hours.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with school-aged children in structured, recreational, and educational activities.
- Ensure full compliance with the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years and School Age Child Care Services) Regulations 2016.
- Implement practices aligned with the National Quality Guidelines for School Age Childcare Services.
- Maintain clear, positive communication with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Support day-to-day room organization, safety checks, and hygiene standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience working with school-aged children.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with the National Quality Guidelines for School Age Childcare Services and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Skills & Attributes: Highly reliable, patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about child development.
- Teamwork: Strong initiative with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Desirable (Not Essential): QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care and Education (or equivalent) to provide occasional relief cover in our Early Years Service.
Schedule & Working Conditions
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
- Schedule: Term-time only, aligned with the primary school academic calendar.
- Annual Leave: To ensure continuity for the children, annual leave is scheduled during school closures (e.g., mid-terms, Christmas, and Easter breaks).
