We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our team at The Tower Hotel, Waterford City.
Working as part of the Neville Hotel Group, the successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring our hotel is maintained to the highest possible standards, providing a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for our guests and colleagues. You will support the day-to-day upkeep of the property through both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, motivated individual who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving, and has experience across general maintenance, plumbing, electrics, carpentry and decorating.
Key Responsibilities

As Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for:

Completing general maintenance tasks throughout the hotel, both internally and externally.

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance.

Carrying out reactive repairs promptly to ensure minimum disruption to guests and hotel operations.

Plumbing repairs including toilets, showers, sinks and general fixtures.
-
Basic electrical tasks including changing spotlights, fittings and transformers.

Painting, decorating and general repair work.
-
Basic carpentry and joinery repairs, including furniture, fixtures and doors.

Assisting with mechanical and electrical planned maintenance duties.

Identifying and reporting maintenance issues across the property.

Working closely with all hotel departments to ensure maintenance requests are completed efficiently.

Ensuring all work is completed in line with Neville Hotels standards.

Ensuring procedures and protocols are followed to the highest quality.

Complying with hotel security procedures, fire regulations, and all health & safety legislation.
The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience in a maintenance role, ideally within a hotel or similar environment.

Have a good working knowledge of general maintenance skills including plumbing, electrics, decorating, tiling and carpentry.

Be enthusiastic, motivated and able to work well under pressure.

Have the ability to work on their own initiative.

Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and take pride in maintaining high standards.

Be able to prioritise workloads effectively.
