Hybrid role based in our Dublin office, with occasional travel to our UK offices as needed
Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform, on a mission to help more people invest, and invest well.
We’re building the infrastructure behind the next generation of investing. Our technology already powers some of the UK’s most ambitious fintechs, banks, financial advisers and wealth firms, with close to a million investors relying on Seccl-powered platforms. And we’re now expanding into Europe, starting in Ireland.
We’ve got a proven product, strong momentum and big ambitions for what comes next: helping more household-name brands launch and scale investment propositions, entering new markets and replacing outdated investment infrastructure with technology that’s faster, simpler and built for scale.
We’re proud to be part of Octopus, one of the UK’s most successful privately held investment and technology groups. That gives us the backing and long-term perspective to build something substantial, while keeping the pace and energy of a high-growth business. Seccl and Octopus are both B Corp certified and share a belief that profit and purpose should go hand in hand.
If you want to help build the next chapter of Seccl in Ireland and shape the future of investing across Europe, you’ll be in good company.

We’re looking for a head of operations and dealing to join Seccl as we build and launch our business in Ireland. Reporting to our Ireland CEO, you’ll be one of the first senior hires in our Dublin team, with the opportunity to help shape a new regulated investment business from the ground up.
You’ll take responsibility for the PCF-29 and PCF-42 functions, and build the operational and dealing foundations we need for launch and long-term growth. You’ll shape our approach across payments, trading, settlement, reconciliations, asset servicing and outsourced operations, creating an environment that is robust from day one and designed to scale.
You’ll also help evolve Seccl’s dealing capability as we expand into more exchange-traded instruments, venues, direct market access and straight-through processing. Working closely with customer firms, regulators, partners and teams across Seccl, you’ll have real influence over how our Irish business operates and how we build for future growth across Europe.
Building the operational and dealing foundations of Seccl Ireland through launch and into growth
Taking responsibility for the PCF-29 and PCF-42 functions
Shaping and owning our operational and dealing control environment across payments, trading, settlement, reconciliations, asset servicing and cash management
Supporting authorisation and building a strong ongoing relationship with the Central Bank of Ireland
Evolving our dealing capability as we expand into new instruments, venues and more automated ways of trading
Leading operational readiness for new products, services and customer launches
Building strong relationships with customer firms, fund managers, operational partners and teams across Seccl
You’re excited by the opportunity to help build and launch a new regulated business. You enjoy creating things, solving complex problems and having a genuine say in how an operation takes shape.
You have strong experience across investment operations, dealing or a similar operational leadership role within financial services
You have the experience and judgement to take on senior PCF responsibilities within an Irish regulated financial services business
You understand trading, settlement, reconciliations, asset servicing and payments, and the controls needed to run them well
You’re comfortable taking first-line ownership in a regulated environment and balancing strong controls with good customer outcomes
You can build trusted relationships with regulators, customer firms, fund managers, third-party providers and senior colleagues
You’re comfortable moving between strategic decisions and operational detail, particularly in a growing or changing environment
Experience of Irish and European regulation, including MiFID, DORA and client asset requirements, would be particularly useful
You want to inherit something fully defined. You’ll be joining early and helping shape how Seccl Ireland works from the outset
You prefer operations to sit in the background. You’ll work directly with customers, regulators, partners and teams across the business
You’re uncomfortable owning risk and controls. You’ll have clear first-line accountability for the operational and dealing environment
You only enjoy strategy or only enjoy detail. You’ll need to move comfortably between the two
You need established answers before you act. We’re building and launching a new business, so you’ll need to make good decisions with imperfect information and adapt as we learn
We offer a generous mix of benefits designed around the things that matter to our people:
A salary between €130,000 and €160,000, dependent on experience and reviewed annually, plus a 6% employer pension contribution and life assurance
25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with some flexibility around bank holidays, plus your birthday off
Two volunteering days each year
The option to work abroad for up to six weeks a year
Secclbrate, our recognition programme offering flexible rewards including extra pay, additional holiday and increased learning budget
One-month paid sabbatical after eight years
Private medical insurance
Enhanced parental leave
MacBook and up to €500 towards your home office set-up
€750 annual learning budget
Health and wellbeing support, including free therapy through Wellness Cloud and mental health support through Headspace
Perkbox, with flexible points and a range of discounts and perks
We put people first and try hard to create an environment where people feel trusted, heard and able to do their best work.
We value openness, curiosity and different perspectives. You’ll have the freedom to challenge how things are done, experiment with better ways of working and take real ownership of your impact.
As one of our early Dublin hires, you’ll also have the opportunity to help shape the culture we build in Ireland while being part of the wider Seccl team.
