Ronayne Hire & Hardware is a long-established family-run business and local franchise for Homevalue and Euronics. With over 40 years in business and continued growth, we are now hiring a Retail Sales Manager for our Thurles store.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can grow sales, lead a team and deliver excellent customer service across our light hardware, flooring and electrical departments.

About the role
Reporting to the Business Owner, you will take ownership of sales performance across key departments, with a particular focus on electrical. You will lead from the shop floor, support and develop the team, and help ensure a high standard of customer experience, merchandising and daily operations.
What you’ll do
- Drive sales growth and margin performance across light hardware, flooring and electrical
- Develop the electrical category through supplier engagement, promotions and premium product sales
- Manage KPIs including sales growth, average transaction value and attachment sales
- Identify local sales opportunities including marketing activity, online enquiries and trade accounts
- Lead by example on the shop floor and support customers with product recommendations
- Handle customer queries, complaints and after-sales issues professionally
- Oversee daily department operations, merchandising, signage and promotions
- Monitor stock levels, support stock control and reduce shrinkage
- Lead, coach and motivate the sales team
- Plan rotas and ensure strong cover across busy and quieter periods
- Work with the Business Owner on retail strategy, commercial opportunities and store improvement
- Support health, safety and compliance standards across the store
What we’re looking for
- Experience in a customer-facing retail sales role
- Strong track record of achieving sales targets
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Commercially aware and results-driven
- Able to lead, influence and motivate others
- Organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities
Nice to have
- Previous supervisory or retail management experience
- Experience in electrical, appliances, technology, furniture, DIY or similar
- Knowledge of electrical or light hardware products
- Familiarity with POS systems, reporting and retail KPIs
- Experience in a franchise or buying group environment
