Tangos Dress Hire is seeking a full-time Formalwear Alterations Tailor & Fitting Specialist to join our team in Temple Bar, Dublin.
Tangos supplies men's formalwear in a range of standard garment sizes. This role involves selecting and professionally fitting appropriate garments to individual customers and carrying out alterations to achieve the required fit for formalwear rental.
Key responsibilities include:
- Measuring customers and assessing garment fit
- Selecting appropriate garment sizes
- Pinning and marking garments for alterations
- Carrying out trouser waist and length alterations
- Carrying out sleeve and other garment adjustments where appropriate
- Hand finishing, minor repairs and garment alterations
- Operating garment alteration and sewing equipment
- Pressing and finishing garments
- Checking completed alterations and final garment fit
- Preparing formalwear for customer collection
- Fitting and preparing suits, tuxedos and associated formalwear for wedding parties and individual customers
- Maintaining fitting and alteration records
- Assisting with garment and stock control
Experience Required
Previous experience in formalwear fitting, garment alterations, tailoring, menswear or a related clothing environment is required.
Applicants should have experience measuring and fitting customers and carrying out garment alterations, together with the ability and willingness to further develop tailoring and machine-alteration skills.
Strong attention to detail and good customer service and communication skills are essential.
Position: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 39 hours per week
Salary: €36,650 gross per annum
