The Role
We are looking for an experienced Used Car Manager to take full ownership of the used car operation at our Carlow site. This is a senior, results-driven role with end-to-end responsibility for sourcing, pricing, stock management, presentation, and sales performance. You will lead the used car sales team and own the department's profitability.
Key Responsibilities

Take full P&L responsibility for the used car department - volume, gross margin and stock turn.

Source and appraise used stock through trade-ins, auctions, direct purchases and imports; build a quality, fast-moving inventory.

Set and manage pricing to market, controlling stock ageing and minimising overage units.

Own the digital presentation of stock across DoneDeal, Carzone and the group website - quality imagery, accurate specs, competitive positioning.

Lead, motivate and develop the used car sales team; set targets and hold the team to them.

Work with the Business Manager to maximise finance and add-on product penetration.

Oversee reconditioning and prep standards with the workshop to ensure cars are retail-ready and turned quickly.

Report performance, KPIs and forecasts to senior management.

Ensure full compliance with SIMI standards and consumer/distance-selling obligations.
Requirements

Minimum 10 years in the motor industry, with substantial used car management experience.

Proven track record of delivering volume and margin in a used car operation.

Strong appraisal and valuation skills and sound knowledge of the Irish used car market.

Commercial and financial acumen - comfortable owning a departmental P&L.

Confident with digital merchandising and online stock platforms.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and drive a sales team.

Experience with a DMS (Keyloop an advantage); knowledge of imports / VRT a plus.

Full clean Irish driving licence.
