Job Description: Pharmacy Technician / Dispensary AssistantPosition Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and empathetic Pharmacy Technician / Dispensary Assistant to join our pharmacy team. In this role, you will work directly under the supervision of the Registered Pharmacist to safely prepare prescriptions, manage stock, and provide exceptional care to our patients.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient delivery of healthcare services while maintaining strict compliance with pharmacy regulations and patient confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Dispensing & Clinical Support
- Prescription Processing, Stock Management: Receive, unpack, and verify incoming wholesale drug orders. Monitor expiry dates and rotate stock systematically.
- Controlled Substances: Assist the pharmacist in maintaining accurate records and logs for controlled drugs, ensuring zero discrepancies.
- Compounding Support: (If applicable) Prepare non-sterile compounds or specialized packaging (e.g., blister packs/dosette boxes) according to protocol.
- Environment Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary dispensary area in line with healthcare infection control standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a community (retail) or hospital pharmacy
- Proficiency with pharmacy dispensing software ,MPS dispensing and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong verbal communication, active listening, and a calm demeanor when handling sensitive patient data or busy peak hours.
Hours:
Monday -Friday 9-1 and 2-6 ( CLOSED 1-2 for lunch break)
Saturdays 9-1
No Sundays or bank holidays.
Pay: €15.00-€20.00 per hour
