Job Title: Finance Officer (12 Month FTC)

Job Purpose: Responsible for Accounting and Finance
Role Overview
As a Finance Officer at Fold housing, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of our organization. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for a diverse range of financial tasks, including but not limited to the following duties and responsibilities. This 12 month contract will be required to cover a current colleague's maternity leave period and will conclude upon their return to work.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
1. Fixed Assets Management:
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to update asset registers and reconcile discrepancies.
2. Accounts Payable:
- Process daily supplier invoices, including getting appropriate approval and sign off.
- Verify and reconcile supplier statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
3. Bank Reconciliations:
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances identified during the reconciliation process.
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for audit purposes.
4. Rent Control:
- Monitor rental income and ensure the Rent Control account is reconciled to our rental software.
- Work closely with the Rental Officer to ensure no discrepancies in our control procedures.
- Act as a continuity to the Rental Officer role.
5. Debtors Management:
- Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, credit control, and collections.
- Monitor and track outstanding debts and take appropriate actions to recover overdue payments.
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve billing disputes and maintain positive relationships with clients and tenants.
6. Loan Reconciliations:
- Reconcile loan accounts and ensure accurate recording of loan transactions.
- Calculate and post monthly interest accruals.
- Prepare loan reconciliation reports for management review and audit purposes.
7. VAT Returns:
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and guidelines.
- Reconcile VAT transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
8. Purchasing:
- Maintain and manage the central contracts file on behalf of Fold, ensuring all documentation is accurate, up to date, and easily accessible.
- Provide administrative support with the tender process for procurement activities on behalf of the Corporate Governance and Housing teams.
9. Ad Hoc Financial Analysis Projects:
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis projects to support decision-making processes and strategic initiatives.
- Analyse financial data, trends, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.

EXPERIENCE
Previous experience at minimum Assistant Accountant level or above - E
