Role Summary: The Project Engineer is responsible for the deployment of online condition monitoring and industrial IoT systems from initial site survey through installation, configuration, commissioning and customer handover.
Working with a range of condition monitoring technologies, the successful candidate will install sensors, configure communication networks, commission monitoring platforms, and provide technical support to customers throughout Ireland. The role combines practical field engineering with technical troubleshooting and customer engagement to ensure successful project delivery and long-term system performance.
The position involves regular travel to customer sites throughout Ireland.
Project Delivery
- Support the planning and execution of online condition monitoring projects.

Conduct site surveys and assist in system specification and design.
- Coordinate project activities with customers, contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, safely and to customer requirements.
Installation & Commissioning
- Install and commission online condition monitoring systems.
- Configure sensors, monitoring devices and communication networks.
- Install vibration, temperature and other condition monitoring sensors on industrial equipment.
- Install and connect field wiring, junction boxes, gateways and network devices.
- Configure industrial Ethernet, wireless and cloud connectivity solutions.
- Carry out system testing, fault finding and performance verification.
- Validate system performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Complete testing, commissioning and customer handover activities.
- Produce commissioning documentation and as-built records.

Skills & Experience
Essential :

Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic or related discipline.
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication and customer-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
Desirable :

Experience with condition monitoring systems.
- Experience with sensors, instrumentation or Industrial IoT devices.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, MQTT, OPC-UA, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
- Experience in pharmaceutical, manufacturing, utilities or process industries.
- Basic understanding of vibration analysis and predictive maintenance principles.
