About the Role
Grove Turkeys is seeking to appoint an Agricultural Field Officer to lead and oversee poultry farm performance, compliance, and bird welfare across a wide network of company and contract grower farms throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
This is a senior, hands-on operational role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to drive high standards across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight & Farm Performance
· Full responsibility for bird welfare, health, and performance across all assigned farms
· Conduct on-site visits and remote audits ensuring consistent standards
· Monitor mortality, feed conversion, growth rates, and environmental conditions
· Provide technical support to optimise flock performance
Compliance & Standards
· Ensure compliance with DAFM, DAERA, DEFRA and Bord Bia
· Manage audit records and certification requirements
· Oversee Origin Green and Bord Bia standards
· Coordinate water testing, biosecurity, and health protocols
· Ensure Salmonella and disease testing compliance
Farm Auditing & Quality Assurance
· Lead internal and external audits
· Implement corrective action plans
· Maintain farmer compliance documentation
Logistics & Production Coordination
· Oversee movement of birds between sites
· Coordinate logistics and transport
· Manage peak operations including Christmas production
Stakeholder Management
· Liaise with farmers, vets, processors, and regulators
· Represent the company during inspections
· Maintain strong stakeholder relationships
Training & Development
· Train and onboard new staff and growers
· Promote continuous improvement and best practice
Candidate Profile
Essential
· Strong poultry/agriculture background
· Experience managing multiple farm sites
· Knowledge of welfare, biosecurity and compliance
· Strong leadership and communication skills
· Full driving licence
Desirable
· Turkey production experience
· Familiarity with Bord Bia and Origin Green
· Data analysis experience
· Senior agricultural role experience
