Horticulture Worker
Location: Pavilion Garden Centre Ltd, Ballygarvan, Co. Cork
Job Summary
Pavilion Garden Centre Ltd is seeking a Horticulture Worker to assist with the day-to-day operation of our commercial nursery.
The successful applicant will carry out routine horticultural tasks under the supervision of the Nursery Manager and Supervisors, following established nursery procedures.
Key Duties
- Water plants in accordance with instructions.
- Pot, plant and transplant nursery stock.
- Assist with plant propagation and seasonal production.
- Move and prepare plants for display and dispatch.
- Weed and maintain growing areas.
- Use horticultural tools and equipment safely.
- Keep work areas clean and tidy.
- Report any damaged or unhealthy plants to supervisors.
- Follow health and safety procedures.
- Carry out other routine nursery duties as directed by management.
Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum two years' practical experience working with plants, gardening, nurseries or horticulture.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
- Careful approach when handling plants.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good level of spoken and written English.
Reporting Structure
The Horticulture Worker reports to the Nursery Manager or Supervisor.
The role is fully supervised. All decisions relating to irrigation, fertilisation, pest control, disease treatment and crop management are made by management. The Horticulture Worker follows instructions and does not independently make technical or supervisory decisions.
Hours: 39 hours per week
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €32,691.00-€34,000.00 per year
