About Us
Saffron Kitchen is a new café and Indian restaurant opening in Ongar. We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista / Café Assistant to help build our morning coffee and breakfast business.
Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
- Operate espresso coffee machine and grinder
- Provide excellent customer service
- Take customer orders and process payments using POS system
- Prepare simple breakfast items, sandwiches, toasties, and pastries
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
- Open and set up the café each morning
- Assist with stock management and daily cleaning duties
Requirements
- Previous barista experience preferred min 2years
- Knowledge of espresso-based coffee preparation
- Friendly and professional attitude
- Good English communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in cafés, restaurants, or hospitality is an advantage
Working Hours
- Monday to Sunday (flexible rota)
- Typical shift: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
