We are currently seeking enthusiastic and talented individuals to join our Make-Up Artist Casual Panel. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide range of television productions in a dynamic broadcasting environment while working alongside an experienced and creative team.
Meet the Team
Behind every great broadcast is a team of talented professionals helping presenters, contributors and guests perform with confidence. RTÉ's Make-Up Artists work across some of Ireland's most recognised programmes, supporting news, sport, entertainment and special events.
We are seeking individuals who are available for casual work within RTÉ's Make-Up Department. Whether you are building your experience or bringing existing industry expertise, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of television productions. Previous experience is desirable, and training will be provided.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Design and Studio Services, you will:
- Prepare presenters, guests and contributors to appear camera-ready for television broadcasts and recordings
- Create a range of make-up looks, from natural on-screen presentation styles to more specialised creative requirements
- Provide hair styling and grooming services appropriate to production needs
- Ensure continuity of appearance throughout productions and broadcasts
- Deliver efficient touch-ups and support during recording sessions and live broadcasts
- Work collaboratively with production teams, wardrobe, designers and programme staff to achieve the required on-screen look
- Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, infection control and professional make-up practice
- Contribute positively to a busy and fast-paced production environment

About You
- A creative and artistic approach to make-up application
- Knowledge of practical make-up techniques
- Experience in hair styling, grooming and basic hair maintenance techniques
- Knowledge of professional hygiene, infection control and cosmetic product safety practices
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to remain calm, organised and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, positive approach to teamwork
- Previous experience in television, theatre, fashion, media or related industries would be advantageous but is not essential. (Training will be provided.)

Contract and Salary
Successful candidates will be appointed at the Make-Up Artist grade and engaged on a *Casual Irregular Contract (see below for more details).
The salary scale for this grade ranges from €18.25 to €26.36 gross per hour.
Future vacancies may be filled from this panel, which will remain in place for two years.

About Casual Irregular Contracts
- A Casual Irregular Contract does not provide guaranteed hours of work each week. Work will be offered in line with business requirements, and individuals may choose whether to accept or decline assignments, subject to operational requirements. The amount of work available may vary and there may be periods when no work is available.
