Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a major engineering project in Ireland. Reporting to the Project Lead, the successful candidate will support mechanical engineering activities including system reviews, equipment coordination, design input, and quality assessments within a fast-paced project environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and confirm correct equipment placement within designated systems and locations
- Work closely with the Project Manager and multidisciplinary teams to establish project requirements
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical support on mechanical systems
- Verify service flows using relevant technical references and documentation
- Identify and resolve engineering issues while documenting outcomes through Records of Discussion (ROD)
- Carry out engineering reviews and Equipment Quality Assessments (EQA’s)
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend effective solutions
- Complete peer reviews accurately and within required deadlines
Requirements
- Previous experience in a mechanical engineering role within a project environment
- Strong CAD and Microsoft Excel skills
- Good understanding of mechanical specifications, facility data sheets, and vendor documentation
- Experience conducting engineering and quality reviews
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Trades, Design, and IT
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
