About the Role
Shannon Town Centre is looking for a professional, reliable and customer-focused Security Officer to join our team.
The successful candidate will provide a visible and professional security presence throughout the shopping centre, helping to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our customers, tenants, staff and visitors.
This is a customer-facing role and would suit someone who is confident dealing with members of the public, able to remain calm under pressure and capable of working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and visible security presence throughout Shannon Town Centre.
- Monitor the centre and respond appropriately to security, safety and customer-related incidents.
- Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre and surrounding areas.
- Monitor and report any suspicious activity, theft, anti-social behaviour or breaches of centre procedures.
- Respond to incidents in a calm and professional manner.
- Complete accurate incident reports and maintain the daily security log.
- Liaise with centre management, retailers, contractors, customers and emergency services when required.
- Assist customers and visitors with general enquiries where appropriate.
- Support the centre management team in maintaining a safe environment.
- Monitor access points and assist with security procedures.
- Report maintenance, health & safety and other issues identified during patrols.
- Follow all site security procedures and company policies.
- Work effectively as part of the security and centre management team.
Requirements
- Current PSA Static Security Licence – essential.
- Previous security experience, preferably in a retail, shopping centre or similar environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Confident dealing with members of the public.
- Professional appearance and manner.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible.
- Good attention to detail.
- Experience completing incident reports and maintaining security logs is desirable.
