Thornleigh Educate Together Natonal School, Swords, invites applications for the position of Part-Time Caretaker.
This is a part-time position, working Monday to Friday with the following hours:
- 7.00 a.m. – 10.00 a.m. each morning
- 1 hour each evening (time to be agreed)
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day care, maintenance and security of the school building and grounds. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Opening and securing the school premises
- General maintenance and minor repairs
- Ensuring the school buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard
- Monitoring health and safety requirements
- Liaising with the Principal and school staff regarding maintenance needs
- Other caretaking duties as required
The ideal candidate will:
- Be reliable, trustworthy and able to work on their own initiative
- Have practical maintenance and DIY skills
- Have good organisational and communication skills
- Be flexible and willing to respond to the needs of the school
- Be committed to maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors
The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory six-month probationary period, Garda Vetting and the usual pre-employment checks.
