This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working individual to join our Night Team.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, 4 x 10 hour night shifts over 7 days per week, starting at approximately 10pm and finishing at 8am. Flexibility is essential.
Reporting to the Night Butler or Manager on duty, this position is responsible for cleaning all public areas of the house as well as back-of-house areas. It is an important role in which the work allocated to you must meet the highest standards of cleanliness, promote Guest comfort, and promote a positive image.
Main Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Report to the Night Butler/Manager at the start of your shift and pick up cleaning checklist.
- Ensure that no person asking to enter a guest room is given access but is directed to reception unless the person is known to you as the occupant of the room.
- Responsible for the cleaning of the below areas to the highest possible standards:
- All reception rooms
- All public areas and toilets within the hotel
- Corridors in both public areas and bedroom sections
- Staff Canteen & Staff Changing Rooms
- Stair wells both public and back of house area
- To report and, where possible, take action on incidents of accident, fire loss or damage and report any maintenance work required in the Accommodation or public areas in accordance with the set reporting system.
- To use provided cleaning materials as per manufacturers instructions and as per training.
- To ensure that house policies regarding lost property are complied with at all times.
The successful candidate will also be expected to cover the Night Butler role on occasion to cover sick leave, annual leave or staff shortages. The Night Butler duties include (but are not limited to);
- Regular security patrols to ensure the Safety of our guests and staff and also to ensure the Safety and security of the premises and its property; ensuring that all exterior door and windows are secured. These patrols take place at regular intervals throughout the night and should focus on fire safety in particular.
- Answer the house telephone in a courteous and helpful manner. Taking messages on behalf of guests and management and ensuring such messages are passed on promptly and accurately.
- The Service of light food and drinks to hotel residents and to account properly for all such transactions.
- To meet, greet and help carry guests luggage on arrival and departure.
- To check in guests to the house arriving late at the hotel according to hotel procedures and policies.
- Dealing with efficiently with guest requests e.g. extra pillows
- Service of early morning refreshments to hotel residents.
- Other duties as required
The successful candidate will be self-driven, can follow instruction and have the ability to work independently.
