Head C&B Porter – Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all duties are carried out efficiently, professionally, and to the highest operational standards at all times.
- Lead and coordinate the Conference & Banqueting porter team to ensure the smooth setup, operation, and breakdown of all events, conferences, weddings, and banqueting functions.
- Allocate daily tasks and manage porter schedules effectively to support seamless event operations and service delivery.
- Ensure all meeting rooms, conference suites, and function areas are set up in accordance with event function sheets, client requirements, and hotel standards.
- Conduct detailed inspections of all event spaces prior to guest arrival to ensure presentation, cleanliness, layout, and equipment meet expected standards.
- Supervise porterage duties including furniture movement, staging, dance floors, AV equipment setup, linen movement, and stock transportation while maintaining health & safety standards.
- Support C&B Manager in coordinating operational requirements and ensuring all porter activities are completed within designated timelines.
- Monitor porter performance and provide guidance, support, and direction to maintain efficiency and service excellence.
- Report maintenance issues, operational challenges, equipment shortages, or staffing/resource concerns promptly to management.
- Ensure all conference and banqueting equipment is handled safely, stored correctly, and maintained in good condition.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest queries, requests, and last-minute event changes, ensuring exceptional customer service at all times.
- Maintain effective communication with the Conference & Banqueting team, Kitchen, Accommodation, Reception, and other hotel departments to support smooth event execution.
- Oversee the collection, delivery, handling, and secure storage of guest and client items, ensuring accountability and care at all times.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, fire safety procedures, manual handling regulations, and all health & safety standards.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new porter team members where required.
Pay: €15.00 per hour
