We are working with our client in Athenry, Co. Galway to recruit an EHS Advisor to join their team on a permanent contract.
Responsibilities: (full job description available by request)
- Maintain and continuously improve the site EHS Management System in line with legal, corporate, and internal compliance standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, process reviews, and hazard identification to implement effective control measures.
- Perform site inspections, safety audits, and compliance monitoring, reporting findings and corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation to prevent recurrence.
- Support EHS projects from planning through implementation and completion.
- Deliver EHS guidance across operations, including risk prevention, hazardous materials, waste management, and safety controls.
- Monitor, analyse, and report EHS KPIs and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop, review, and maintain EHS procedures, documentation, and ISO 14001 compliance activities.
- Deliver health & safety training, inductions, toolbox talks, and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments, contractor safety reviews (RAMS), and support workplace safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role is essential.
- Relevant 3rd Level Health and Safety qualification essential.
- Strong understanding of Irish EHS Regulations and relevant ISO Standards e.g. ISO 45001 & 14001.
- Experience working in the manufacturing industry desired.
- Must work well in a team environment and communicate and interact effectively with others at all levels
