Essential criteria for the position of Senior Social Care Worker:
- A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential
- Proof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker
- OR proof of application in progress with CORU.
- At least one years recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs
- Availability to work shifts on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and may also be required to complete sleep-in duties.
- Full, clean Irish drivers licence essential with requirement to drive service vehicles
- Permission to work in Ireland essential

Qualifications required for a Senior Social Care Worker:
- A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential, (or relevant schedule 3 qualification as listed on CORUs website) with at least 6 months recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; OR
- A relevant 3rd level qualification at degree level i.e. Social Work/Psychology with at least 2 years recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; AND
- Proof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker
- OR proof of application in progress with CORU.
Skills/Abilities required of a Senior Social Care Worker
- At least one years recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs
- Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector
- Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism
- Proven ability to work on own initiative
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Fluent English and excellent communication skills
- Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities
- Delivers support according to the persons PCP and care plan.
- Experience at a similar level with responsibility for supervising/managing a team
- Proven experience in managing team rota
- Experience of leading/chairing meetings
- Full, clean drivers licence essential with requirement to drive service vehicles
