Lifeguard – Westpark Fitness
Westpark Fitness is searching for a part-time/full-time Lifeguard to join the team of our fast-paced leisure facility in Tallaght. This is a fun, customer-focused club that provides a top-class gym, pool, classes and spa facility to its members and staff.
We are looking for a professional, friendly and vigilant Lifeguard who takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all our members and guests.
This is a 20–40 hour per week position, with shifts available across mornings, afternoons and evenings. The successful candidate must be flexible with their working hours and available to work across weekdays, weekends and bank holidays as required.
Our facility operates seven days a week from 6am–10pm Monday to Thursday, 6am–9pm Friday, and 8am–6pm Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays.
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a current and recognised Lifeguard qualification.
- Hold current First Aid/CPR/Life Support qualifications as required.
- Have excellent observation and communication skills.
- Be confident dealing with members of the public.
- Be reliable, responsible and able to remain alert and focused.
- Have a strong commitment to customer service and safety.
- Be flexible and available to work across different shifts, including weekends and bank holidays when required.
- Be willing to complete ongoing training and CPD.
- Previous leisure or pool experience is desirable but not essential where the required qualifications are held.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining constant observation of the pool and ensuring the appropriate level of supervision at all times.
- Communicating effectively and professionally with pool users.
- Identifying potential hazards and taking action to prevent accidents.
- Intervening promptly where unsafe behaviour is observed.
- Responding quickly and appropriately to emergencies.
- Administering First Aid, CPR and Life Support when required.
- Carrying out daily pool safety and hygiene inspections.
- Completing all required management checklists, including daily duties, individual and changing-room checklists.
- Ensuring all PPE and safety equipment is in good working order.
- Checking and maintaining rescue equipment.
- Carrying out regular pool water testing and reporting any readings outside acceptable ranges.
- Following the pool's Normal Operating Procedures (N.O.P.) and Emergency Action Plan (E.A.P.).
- Ensuring the pool is never left unattended and ensuring breaks are appropriately covered.
- Maintaining a professional appearance and wearing the full Lifeguard uniform at all times.
- Using the OpsPal device to complete required checklists and inspections.
- Maintaining high standards of pool safety, cleanliness and customer service.
- Keeping all required qualifications and training up to date, including CPD.
- Carrying out other reasonable duties as required to support the smooth running of the leisure facility.
