We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join the Operations department at our Castleblayney site in Ireland.
As the Maintenance & Mechanical Automation Fitter (MMAF) Apprentice, you will be working as part of the Engineering & Maintenance team, reacting to and resolving day-to-day issues, working closely with other departments and production lines to identify opportunities to improve processing reliability, safety and product quality with an overall view to maintaining the world class levels of manufacturing.
You will develop comprehensive mechanical and fabrication skills to install, maintain, repair, and integrate machinery and components across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic & computer‑controlled systems and gain practical experience in the workplace, alongside completing a professional qualification (Level 6- NFQ).
This is a blended combination of on-the-job employer-based learning and off-the-job learning. The apprenticeship is for 4 -years, in which you will be employed by Kingspan Insulation and receive a competitive salary package. On successful completion of this programme, you will be awarded a Level 6 Advanced Certified Craft - Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting.
What we are looking for in our Electrical Apprentice:
You will have:
- The minimum entry requirement for the programme is a Junior Certificate pass, with a Grade D or higher in five subjects.
- Minimum age 16 years old from start date.
- Ability to follow instruction and work as part of a team.
- Flexible and willing to be trained across multiple departments and areas as needed.
- Good housekeeping
- Be a good team player with a “Can do attitude”.
- Ability to act quickly when problems arise.
Whilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:
- Previous experience of the following subjects would be an advantage but not essential: Metalwork, Physics, Engineering, Technology, Mathematics and Technical Drawing/Graphics.
