We are seeking a Childcare Assistant through the Community Employment (CE) Scheme to join our warm and welcoming pre-school team in the Ballybay Wetlands for 19.5 hours per week.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in early childhood education, community work, or returning to employment in a supportive environment. The role offers meaningful, hands-on experience working with young children.
The successful applicant will receive ongoing mentoring, support, and free training opportunities, including the chance to complete a QQI Level 5 qualification in Early Learning & Care while employed.
Duties may include:
• Assisting with the daily running of the pre-school
• Supporting children’s play, routines, and outdoor activities
• Helping prepare materials and maintain a warm, nurturing environment
• Working as part of a small, supportive team
Essential:
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• An interest in working with young children
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Must meet Community Employment Scheme eligibility criteria
Experience in childcare is welcome but not essential, as training and mentoring will be provided.
