Spray Painter Operative
Emerald Guitars | Full-time | St. Johnston
Emerald Guitars is looking for a Spray Painter Operative to join our production team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in producing a high-quality finish, and has an interest in paint, preparation and polishing.
You do not need to be an experienced professional spray painter to apply. We are interested in people who have the right practical skills, attention to detail and attitude, and who are keen to learn and develop within the role.
Experience in spray painting, paint preparation, sanding or polishing would be desirable but is not essential.
What the role involves
The role will involve, spraying, finishing and polishing guitar bodies and components to the high standards expected by Emerald Guitars.
Your day-to-day work may include:
- Mixing and applying paints and finishes using spray equipment.
- Checking painted surfaces for quality and consistency.
- Sanding and preparing finishes between stages where required.
- Polishing finished, spray-painted products to achieve a high-quality finish.
- Identifying and correcting minor imperfections in the finish.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area.
- Following production processes and quality standards.
- Working carefully and consistently to produce a premium finished product.
The skills we're looking for
We are particularly interested in people who have experience in any environment where preparation, painting, finishing or polishing is important.
For example, this role could suit someone who has worked in:
- Car body repair or automotive refinishing.
- Vehicle preparation and painting.
- Sanding and surface preparation.
- Automotive polishing and finishing.
- Furniture finishing or spray painting.
- Manufacturing or production environments.
- Any hands-on role involving detailed finishing work.
Previous experience with guitars is not required.
The processes involved in preparing, painting, sanding and polishing are familiar across many industries — the difference here is simply the canvas.
We can provide training and support to help the right person learn our specific processes and standards.
This is an opportunity to take skills you may already have and apply them to something a little different.
If you have a good eye for detail, enjoy seeing a project go from preparation through to a high-quality finished product, and would like to learn something new, we'd love to hear from you.
