About the Role
ORS has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to join our newly acquired team. This is an important senior role within the business, with responsibility for managing Structural & Civil design consultancy services on medium & large building infrastructure projects, and driving the efficient and productive delivery of projects.
The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from feasibility and early-stage planning through detailed design, construction documentation and delivery. They will also play an active role in client management, work winning and the continued growth of the team.

The successful candidate will primarily work on projects across the West of Ireland, with Galway as their local ORS office base . This provides the opportunity to lead and develop a strong regional project portfolio while working as part of ORS’s wider multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural and civil design and delivery of medium and large-scale building projects.
- Manage teams delivering the structural and civil design process for large building projects, ensuring quality, efficiency and adherence to programme.
- Project manage structural and associated civil engineering consultancy services.
- Take responsibility for project planning, resourcing, deadlines and technical delivery.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to engineers and technicians.
- Manage client relationships and act as a key technical point of contact throughout project delivery.
- Support work winning, including preparation of proposals, fee submissions and developing opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Coordinate effectively with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant Irish and European codes, standards and construction requirements.
Contribute to improving team productivity, technical standards and design processes.

Essential Requirements
- Level 8 qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10+ years' engineering experience within a consultancy environment, with minimum 5 years demonstrated Irish project experience.
- Strong structural engineering proficiency, with significant experience managing teams delivering the structural design process for large building projects.
- Excellent technical design capability and knowledge of relevant structural engineering codes and standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction and engineering principles.
- Experience leading projects and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Strong client-facing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with a commitment to achieving project deadlines.
- AutoCAD & REVIT / BIM Proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel to project sites as required

Desirable Requirements
Chartered Engineer status preferred but not essential.
