Job Summary:
Davenham Switchgear a Legrand company, is seeking a highly organised and proactive Payroll and Accounts Administrator reporting to the finance manager. This role will be responsible for managing payroll processing, accounts administration, and ensuring accurate financial record keeping. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. We are seeking a team member with at least 2 years’ of experience in a payroll and accountancy related role.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
- Process weekly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
- Maintain payroll records, including checking employee time and attendance data, pulling tax information (RPN), and ensuring correct benefit deductions.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
- Processing instructions such as joiners / leavers / change of terms and absences etc.
- Ensure compliance with payroll employment laws and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of payroll reports & pay gap reports including any payroll related documents.
Accounts Administration:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment processing.
- Reconcile accounts, including bank statements and vendor accounts.
- Prepare financial reports and assist in budget preparation.
- Monitor and report on accounting activity and assist in managing the company’s financial health.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
General Administrative Duties:
- Maintain organised financial filing systems, both electronic and paper based.
- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Respond to inquiries from employees and vendors regarding payroll and accounts.
- Stay updated on accounting best practices and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
- Payroll certification (IPASS) is a plus but not mandatory.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing and accounts administration.
- Familiarity with accounting software (Pegasus) and payroll systems (Sage an advantage)
- Strong understanding of GDPR & data sensitivity.
Skills:
- Analytical and have excellent attention to detail. Detail oriented with an aptitude for figures and the ability to problem solve.
- Somebody who takes responsibility and pride in their role that values accuracy and precision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal to enable them to work successfully with a diverse customer base.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
