POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Jigsaw Clinician/ Clinical Coordinator will take a leading role in coordinating the Jigsaw clinical service provision in Clare. The substantive focus on the role is the provision of safe, quality therapeutic support for young people aged between 12-25 years while retaining oversight of clinical operations and service delivery under the direction of the Jigsaw Limerick Clinical and Service Managers. Some managerial/leadership experience will be beneficial to support the delivery of the role.
Senior Jigsaw Clinicians offer short-term therapeutic supports to young people aged 12-25 years who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This usually involves 1:1 work with the young person and may include other family members as well.
Our senior clinicians come from diverse professional backgrounds including social work, occupational therapy, mental health nursing, clinical/counselling/educational psychology, and psychotherapy, working as part of transdisciplinary teams across our 15 services nationwide.
All of our clinicians share the same scope of practice to support the goals of our young people in a collaborative, respectful, and evidence informed manner while drawing on their own unique training, experience, and skills. As senior members of the clinical team, Senior Jigsaw Clinicians assume leadership responsibilities as appropriate and work closely with the Clinical Manager in ensuring safe, effective, high quality service provision. Additionally, Senior Jigsaw Clinicians can be involved in health promotion, youth engagement and advocacy.

This is a full time, permanent position, based in our Clare Service.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liaise with the Local Managers in Limerick and Regional Managers as required to ensure safe and efficient service delivery within the scope of Jigsaw's Policies, Procedures and Guidelines
- Provide evidence informed brief, therapeutic interventions to young people within a Single Session Therapy Framework
- Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans as appropriate.
- Provide clinical consultation/guidance as required to other clinicians in Clare team.
- Provide clinical supervision to Jigsaw Clinicians (and Senior Jigsaw Clinician) in Clare as directed and agreed by the Clinical Manager and/or Regional Clinical Manager
- Facilitate weekly Case Management Meetings in Clare and report to Clinical Manager
- Deputise for the Clinical Manager in their absence and/or as required.
- Liaise with referrers to create referral pathways between Jigsaw and other mental health services in Clare and support and promote service integration.
- Liaise and consult with other professionals in supporting the mental health of young people attending Jigsaw.
- Fulfil obligations as per the Children First Act 2015 and comply with the Jigsaw Child Protection and Welfare policy
- Maintain accurate, confidential records of practice using Jigsaws Electronic Health Record System
- Ensure compliance with responsibilities under the Date Protection Acts 1988, 2003 & 2018 (GDPR) in Clare.
- Report incidents or breaches to Clinical Manager and Service Manager as required
- Support reporting to Service and Clinical Managers to provide understanding regarding service performance
- Actively participate in clinical supervision and line management meetings.
- Share information with the Local Leadership team, Jigsaw team and other stakeholders, in accordance with good practice and governance and to support service delivery in Clare.
- Actively participate in Limerick/ Clare team meetings
- Contribute to research, audit and evaluation of the service as required.
- Day-to-day responsibility and escalation to Service Manager or local Health and Safety, Facilities, petty cash/Pleo, IT, etc.
- Undertake any other duties as determined by Jigsaw.
- Maintain professional and personal boundaries.
- Demonstrate an open and flexible attitude to work at all times.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential Criteria: Qualifications & Registration/Accreditation It is essential that you meet one of the below:
- Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology. Candidates qualified overseas must provide evidence of validation by the Department of Health at the time of application.
- Mental Health Nurse registered with NMBI
- Social Worker registered with CORU.
- Occupational Therapist registered with CORU.
- Psychotherapist accredited by the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP), the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP)
Essential Criteria: Experience
- A minimum of four years full time, or equivalent, post qualification/accreditation experience* working in health and social care, therapeutic or related organisational settings to support people with their mental health needs. *For Psychologists, a minimum of one year of this experience must be spent in post qualification 2 experience as professional psychologist.
- Experience of applying core therapeutic mental health skills; assessment (including risk assessment), formulation, providing evidence informed therapeutic interventions and evaluation.
- Experience of working in a leadership role or assuming leadership for specific projects
- Experience of providing clinical supervision / support to professionals/ students.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working therapeutically with young people aged 12-25 years.
- Experience of training in delivering evidence informed mental health interventions, e.g. Single Session Therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy etc.
- Ability to reflect on practice in order to facilitate personal learning, professional development and service improvement.
- Effective presentation and facilitation skills including the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.
- Managerial/Leadership skills /experience in a team setting.
- Strong time management skills.
- An ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise competing demands.
- Capacity to work co-operatively as part of a team.
- Competent in MS office, Office 365, Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Factors taken into account in determining an appropriate scale include the candidates knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the job. The salary range for this role will align with that of the Senior Jigsaw Clinician role (52,648 to 74,309) but will have an additional 10% applied, reflective of the additional responsibilities of the Senior Jigsaw Clinician/ Clinical Coordinator role.
The salary range for this role will be 52,648 - 74,309 plus an additional 10% applied reflective of the additional responsibilities of the Senior Jigsaw Clinician/ Clinical Coordinator role.
