The Position
We wish to appoint an experienced risk consultant with management experience for a financial services (“FS”) risk consulting role, with a risk, compliance, internal audit, accountancy or similar background and at least 3 years’ professional experience. Our FS risk and compliance consulting team work with and support a range of financial institutions and entities in banking, insurance, asset management, payment services and MIFID investment firms.
As a member of our FS risk consulting team, this person will have the opportunity to learn and support the delivery of a range of regulatory assignments of a recurring and non-recurring nature in the following areas;
- Regulatory investigations and assurance;
- FS compliance and risk management;
- I nternal audit; and
Corporate governance

Key Responsibilities
- Growing your knowledge of regulatory and compliance obligations of our clients
- Supporting assignments with clients in the following areas; regulatory submissions and investigations; corporate governance; FS compliance and risk management; internal control frameworks
- Reporting into the senior leadership, working towards the achievement of departmental goals and targets
- Working to deadlines and within budgets on each assignment
- Involvement as an ambassador in firm / department / practice development and marketing initiatives
Managing and developing junior team members.

Ideal Candidate
- Qualification in accountancy or relevant industry qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, Compliance Institute, Institute of Internal Auditors, CIMA) is preferred
- Ideally, a minimum of 3 years’ experience within risk and compliance consulting
- Good understanding of some risk and compliance regulatory areas (e.g. PSD, Consumer Protection Code, Investor Protection, Fitness and Probity etc)
- Demonstrated knowledge of challenges and developments within the banking industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Strong organisational and planning capabilities
- Ability to work on own initiative and to provide guidance to others
- Experience of working to deadlines and delivering under pressure
- Excellent computer-literacy skills
Experience in a professional services firm, risk management role or a compliance function role is preferred.
