Tormeys Butchers Galway are hiring a Fresh Food Preperation Assistant. We are seeking a reliable and motivated candidate to join our family business. This role involves preparing, handling and presenting fresh food and meat products to a high standard while ensuring qaulity, hygeine and customer satisfaction.
This oppurtunity is perfect for a candidate with previous experience working with meat and fresh food.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of fresh meat products including cutting, trimming and portioning.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP and knife safety.
- Maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards.
- Packaging, labelling and displaying food products in line with standards.
- Ability to monitor stock rotation and waste control.
- Support Senior Butchery staff in daily operations.
- Providing excellent customer service.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in food preparation, butchery or other relevant work is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of meat handling and adherence to safety practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends.
- HACCP/Food safety certificate desirable.
Salary: €16-17 per hour
