Role Summary
As part of our growing Quality team, the QA/QC Specialist will play a key part in the organisation's focus on Quality and will underpin the culture of continuous improvement. Reporting to the Head of QHSE and ESG and working closely with the Quality Engineer, the QA/QC Specialist will demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, data gathering and analysis expertise as they work to support the delivery of an exceptional customer experience. Key Responsibilities
Quality Control and Assurance:
- Complete and document Quality checks throughout all stages of the manufacturing process.
- Work closely with the Production team to ensure their consistent delivery of standard checks.
- Process audits of the manufacturing processes to ensure that SOPs are being adhered to, and finished products comply with both internal and customer requirements.
- Compile and analyse data from Quality checks to identify patterns and potential issues.
- Provide regular input to the Quality team on outcomes from QA/QC checks.
- Ensure any non-conformances are recorded and acted upon promptly.
- Complete non-conformance investigations where required in line with agreed timescales, with appropriate monitoring and reporting.
- Provide support for production trials, root cause analysis (RCAs) and improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate records of Quality related processes and procedures.
- Work closely with the Quality Engineer to draft, maintain and update technical documents related to internal Quality systems.
- Assist with the preparation for external audit activities / inspections as requested.
- Performs QA/QC duties in accordance with applicable ISO standards to ensure compliance, quality, and continuous improvement
- Represent the Quality team where required at meetings, project reviews etc.
Reporting and Data Analysis:
- Ensure that all Quality related data is clearly documented and up to date.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reports on Quality metrics as required.
- Provide RCA Report for customers where necessary.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and suggest improvements to current equipment, processes, and procedures to streamline the manufacturing activities while ensuring high standards of quality.
- Be an active participant in Continuous Improvement Projects by delivering on actions, critiquing current methods and suggesting alternatives/improvements.
- Deliver assigned actions from the company’s Improvement Log.
Customer Experience:
- Focus on the overall satisfaction and experience of customers.
General:
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, health & safety requirements and the International (IEC), British (BS), European (EN) and other standards which apply to our business.
- Contribute to a collaborative and innovative working environment.
- Model and promote safe and tidy work environment to ensure that strict Health & Safety and environmental guidelines are adhered to at all times.
- Deliver duties in a professional manner, with confidentiality and discretion.
- Complete all training as required for the role.
- Support as needed if requested to carry out other duties within the business.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 3rd level qualification in a technical or manufacturing discipline, preferably Electrical or Electronic. (Degree desirable but not essential)
- Min 3 years’ experience working ideally in the switchgear industry, or alternatively working in Product Quality, Product Reliability, Customer Assurance.
- Outstanding attention to detail with a keen eye for inconsistencies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge colleagues in a respectful manner.
- A logical mindset with an inherent understanding of structured processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good Microsoft Office skills (Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Visio; Outlook; Teams)
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Experience working with ISO quality standards.
- Committed, resilient professional who shows integrity and drive in everything they do.
- Full driving licence, fluency in English and eligible to work in Ireland.
Other details
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Based primarily on site in our office in Rathcoole, Co Dublin.
- Travel to client sites may be required.
- Occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines or deal with client requirements.
- Salary €45,000 – €55,000 depending on experience, with scope for progression.
