We are seeking a highly organised and commercially focused Commercial Operations Manager to lead our Internal Sales & Administration function across two locations.
This role is critical in ensuring that all sales administration processes, customer order handling, and data management activities are executed to the highest standard. Acting as the central link between Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations, you will drive consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the commercial support function.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of the Internal Sales & Administration team, ensuring strong performance, robust processes, and high-quality data to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, manage, and develop the Internal Sales & Administration teams across two locations
- Set clear objectives, KPIs, and service level standards
- Monitor team performance and implement improvements where required
- Ensure consistency in ways of working across locations
Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement
- Own all sales administration processes, including order processing, quoting, and system workflows
- Develop, document, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and best practices
Sales Support & Commercial Effectiveness
- Provide operational support to the Sales Director and wider sales team
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of quotes and customer orders
- Improve turnaround times and service levels
- Enhance the overall effectiveness of the sales support function
ERP Systems, Data & Reporting
- Maintain high standards of data accuracy and integrity across ERP/CRM systems
- Analise complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Develop and deliver regular reports and dashboards (e.g. sales performance, order tracking)
- Support decision-making through clear and actionable insights
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager on campaign execution, lead tracking, and reporting
- Partner with the Financial Controller on pricing, margins, and reporting accuracy
- Collaborate with the Operations Director to ensure efficient order fulfilment and issue resolution
Customer Order Management & Experience
- Oversee the end-to-end customer order process
- Ensure orders are processed accurately and efficiently
- Act as an escalation point for complex or high-value customer issues
- Drive improvements in customer experience through better coordination and communication
Systems & Tools Optimisation
- Ensure effective use of Microsoft applications (Sharepoint, Teams, Power BI, etc.)
- Drive improvements in ERP system usage and workflows
- Support system upgrades or new implementations where required
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, or Business Operations role
- Strong leadership experience managing teams, ideally across multiple locations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Applications
- Experience working with ERP systems and managing complex data environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational and process management capabilities
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels
