The Job in a Nutshell

The Three Ireland IP Network Design team consists of highly skilled and experienced engineers, both CCIE and CCNP level. As part of our future expansion plans we’re looking to hire junior IP CCNA-level engineers. Ultimately you will develop into the role of IP Network Design Engineer for key area of IP networks and will be given responsibility for the design and technical delivery within the specific core network technology area. Your role will include monitoring, administrating and developing Deep Packet Inspection tools in use for subscriber data routing.

2G/3G Packet and Circuit Core,
Service Layer and much more.

You will be giving the opportunity to work across multiple domain teams and will be supported by a team of senior design engineers and solution architects. Our design, solutions and test teams are responsible for the architectural design and delivery of key business network technology projects and you will be working with leading technology products and vendors.
In this role you will be contributing to the definition, design and delivery of an outstanding network experience required by our brand.

Your role will include learning to use and develop transformative technologies such as Network Function Virtualisation, Software Defined Networks, automated provisioning, spine and leaf data Centre architectures and more. You will work across multiple technologies and vendors, primarily Cisco and Juniper.

We require team players, that can build trust and excellent working relations within the organisation so your role will requires interaction with various teams within core domain and with colleagues working in other technology and business functions. It will also include monitoring, administrating and developing Deep Packet Inspection tools

The skills we are looking for

Must Have
Enthusiastic and genuine interest in a career in telecoms industry.
Degree in one of the following areas - Engineering, Telecommunications and IT disciplines
Understanding of IP networking
Experience with system administration
Personal drive and aptitude to develop technical competence
Problem solving abilities
Good verbal and written communications skills
Take responsibility for assigned tasks, and be accountable for driving through tasks to completion
Time management and ability to work to deadlines
Previous experience of working within an team environment
Influencing and communications skills
Leadership and influencing skills to drive Core Design Team deliverables and collaboration with other Networks and IT departments.

Nice to Have
Work experience placement with network operator or major network infrastructure vendors
Working knowledge of IP networks.
Cisco/Juniper admin level network certification also nice to have but not essential, ie, CCNA, JNCIA
