The Knowledge Centre team is an integral part of the wider award-winning Knowledge team at A&L Goodbody LLP. The team are responsible for the delivery of an excellent library, information and research service to the firm.
This role, which reports directly to the Knowledge Services Manager, is a key role on the team of 3 librarians.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified librarian confident in conducting research and delivering information skills training
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the management of the Knowledge Centre enquiry service
- Provide extensive legal research support firmwide
- Information skills training for solicitors, trainees and paralegals on legal information resources and legal research. This role includes the development and implementation of training programmes and support materials in a hybrid working environment
- Contribute as a content editor to the Knowledge Centre intranet site on SharePoint
- Proactively contribute to the development of the services provided by the Knowledge Centre team
- Contribute to the management of the Knowledge Centre's digital and print collections
- Provide support to the Knowledge Services Manager.
Capabilities & Behaviours
- Excellent research skills
- Proven experience training end users on legal information resources and legal research.
- Strong IT and systems skills required; SharePoint experience is an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to work within tight deadline, adapt to changing priorities and manage own workload
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Flexible, collaborative and co-operative attitude.
- Evidence of commitment to relevant professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
A recognised post-graduate qualification in Library and Information Studies / Management
3+ years' experience of working in a library with a busy enquiry service in a legal, corporate or special library setting
