P.J. Kelly Limited, Homevalue Hardware is currently seeking a dependable and experienced Trade Counter Sales & Operations Specialist. This position is a dual-function role, requiring the successful candidate to manage both customer-facing sales and back-end operational duties. You will be responsible for providing technical product advice, processing orders, and assisting with the physical handling and merchandising of stock.
Core Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Act as a professional point of contact for trade and retail customers, providing accurate product information and solutions.
- Sales Administration: Manage the end-to-end sales process, including Point of Sale (POS) transactions, quotations, and following up on customer inquiries.
- Purchasing: Liase with supplier representatives in-store, and supplier sales offices by phone and email, to source specific product for customers, and maintain shop stock levels. Produce purchase orders for same.
- Store Standards: Maintain a clean and organized store environment through regular restocking, shelf merchandising, and accurate price labeling.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, participate in stocktakes, and ensure all security procedures are followed to safeguard company property.
Requirements & Experience
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience within a builders’ providers or a similar hardware/DIY environment is essential.
- Knowledge: Extensive familiarity with building materials and construction products.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in POS software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Interpersonal Skills: A professional manner with the ability to build long-term relationships with trade professionals.
- Reliability: A disciplined approach to health and safety, security, and store procedures.
Working Hours & Benefits
- Schedule: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, including every second Saturday.
