Job Title: Transport Manager

Main Location: Shannon, Co. Clare
Hours: 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday and beyond where business needs dictate. Flexibility is required during operational hours.
Job Summary:
As Transport Manager, take control of a key location in the Aramex Nationwide Network, servicing domestic, UK origin/destination freight and connecting to our European hubs. The key function of this role is to ensure efficient management of collections and deliveries in the region, manage costs and network profitability while achieving agreed customer SLAs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage collection and distribution channels through sub-contractors.
- Develop and maintain relations with key sub-contractors, ensuring a cost effective and efficient network aligned to Aramex processes and procedures.
- Build relationships with other Aramex depots across network in Ireland and UK
- Liaise with customers, ensuring proactive communication and supporting on queries
- Investigate and resolve reported operational issues. Implement processes where possible to prevent or negate reoccurrence
- Manage the daily trunking and linehaul trailer requirement.
- Manage and resolve outstanding POD issues with sub-contractors and other Aramex Offices.
- Generate KPI reports for internal performance and customers management.
- Ensure all daily transport costs are completed efficiently on system on a daily basis.
- Review working practices with Branch Manager to improve efficiency.
- Represent the depot at operational meetings and conference calls.
- Manage sub-contractors to improve profitability of collection/delivery service.
- Work on the Aramex business management system to ensure all H&S data is maintained.
- Manage warehouse staffing requirement to ensure there is sufficient cover.
Team Management:
· Through the company appraisal system, establish individual development plans for each staff member and agree specific targets for career and business growth.
· Ensure all staff under his/her guidance are following the company policies and regulations.
· To develop schemes and set strategic objectives to create motivation and job satisfaction for all staff reporting direct to the postholder.
· To ensure that all relevant staff receive correct and adequate training opportunities to allow them to achieve their targets and perform their tasks with enthusiasm and efficiency.

Additional Requirements:
· In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the postholder may be required to perform other duties assigned from time to time. Subject to adequate training.
· To participate in the annual performance appraisal and objective setting scheme.
· To work in accordance with all company policies including Health and Safety, Employment, Staff, Quality and Environmental.
· To have a detailed knowledge of and apply the Depot’s Business Plan in all aspects of development.
