We are seeking a highly capable and commercially focused Finance Director to lead the finance function of our successful Modular construction business.
The Finance Director will act as a member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic financial leadership to support sustainable growth, profitability, risk management and long-term business planning.
The role requires a strong technical accountant with proven construction or project-based finance experience, coupled with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Control: Prepare and present monthly performance packs and financial insights to senior management and Group leadership.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Own annual budget and rolling forecasts including scenario modelling.
Contract & Commercial Review: Provide financial oversight of major contracts, commercial negotiations, tender submissions and project risk assessments.
Treasury & Funding: Manage banking relationships, treasury activities, working capital performance and capital allocation decisions.
Risk & Governance: Lead financial risk management, internal controls and corporate governance across the business.
Construction accounting: Oversight of project accounting, contract profitability, revenue recognition, work-in-progress (WIP), claims, variations and contract cash conversion.
Process Improvement: Drive system and reporting improvements and enhance financial processes.
Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing finance function.
Strategic Planning: Support strategic planning, investment appraisal, business cases and growth initiatives.
Requirements:
CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified Accountant
8+ years of post-qualification industry experience
Experience within construction, modular, or project-based environment
Demonstrated experience supporting senior leadership and strategic decision making
Experience managing audit, tax and financial governance
Experience with Microsoft Business Central or equivalent ERP systems.
