We are currently seeking a full-time Kitchen Assistant to join our team.
Applicants must have a good standard of English.
This is a resident-facing role that involves direct interaction with residents, including serving meals and drinks in a dementia-friendly environment. Candidates must be comfortable engaging with residents and contributing to a warm, homely atmosphere.
Hours of Work
- 30 hours per week.
- This is a rostered position, and shifts may be scheduled on any day from Monday to Sunday.
- Rosters are prepared and issued on a fortnightly basis.
Main Duties Include:
- Supporting the Catering Manager in the daily running of the kitchen.
- Assisting with meal and beverage service to residents.
- Washing delph, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Supporting with basic food preparation, such as making sandwiches, cereals, and toast.
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Working efficiently in a busy environment as part of a team.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous kitchen or catering experience.
- HACCP training/certification is desirable.
Training and Support
Full training and ongoing support will be provided. This will include training in:
- HACCP.
- Food Safety.
- Texturised Diets.
- Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults.
- Manual Handling.
- Dementia Care and Resident Engagement.
This training will ensure you are confident and well-equipped to work safely and effectively within our nursing home environment.
