We are looking for a full-time Retail Supervisor to support and oversee operations at The Gem Howth. Priority will be given to candidates who are available for evening shifts and who can support the business during later trading hours.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who is reliable, customer-focused, and confident leading a team in a busy retail and food service environment. You will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the business, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high operational standards, and supporting the development of team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example in delivering friendly, efficient, and professional customer service
- Supervise and support team members during daily operations
- Operate the till and oversee cash handling procedures accurately
- Monitor stock levels, coordinate replenishment, and ensure displays, counters, and service areas are well presented
- Support food service operations and ensure food safety standards are consistently maintained
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout the business
- Ensure compliance with HACCP procedures, company policies, and health and safety requirements
- Assist with staff training, onboarding, and ongoing performance support
- Manage workflow effectively and help coordinate the team during busy trading periods
- Support opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and security checks
- Assist management with day-to-day operational tasks and problem-solving across both businesses
What We're Looking For
- Previous supervisory experience in retail, deli, café, hospitality, or a similar customer-facing environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- A proactive, reliable, and organised approach to work
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
- Flexibility to work across different tasks and locations as required
- Valid permit to work in Ireland
