Job Title: Machine Operator, Potato Packhouse

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Machin Operator to join our Potato Packhouse team, responsible for operating and maintaining potato packaging machinery within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, ensuring quality & safety requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Operation & Maintenance:
- Operate machines for packaging potatoes, ensuring they comply with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance to ensure machines run efficiently and meet safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during production to minimise downtime.
2. Quality Control:
- Monitor product quality, ensuring that all potato products meet Irish food safety and quality standards. Conduct routine checks on finished products following ISO or BRC (British Retail Consortium) food safety protocols.
3. Safety:
- Follow all safety procedures, ensuring equipment complies with Health and Safety Authority (HSA) regulations and report any safety hazards or issues to supervisors immediately.
4. Production Reporting:
- Document machine performance, production rates, and any issues encountered.
- Communicate with supervisors about delays, breakdowns, or maintenance needs.
5. Cleaning & Sanitation: Ensure machines and work areas are kept clean in line with food hygiene standards required by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) and participate in regular cleaning routines, ensuring sanitation to avoid contamination.
6. Team Collaboration: Work with fellow operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth production in compliance with industry standards.
Essential Requirements:
Technical Skills: Ability to operate and troubleshoot machines, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: Vigilant in monitoring both product quality and machine performance.
Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot issues quickly to minimize disruptions.
Experience: Prior experience in machine operation, especially within food processing or a similar environment, is preferred.
Safety Awareness: Strong focus on adhering to HSA and FSAI safety and hygiene standards.
Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work rotating shifts or weekends as required. quality and machine performance.
Hours: Shifts schedule Monday – Saturday (5 over 7 days)
